Help us make dreams come true. The Central City Alliance has sponsored a Toy Giveaway 5 times before this, but this year we are doing something a bit more ambitious:
We’re sending 15 kids to Disney World!
We’ve adopted our local elementary school,  Thurgood Marshall, on 13th Street and Powerline Rd., and plan on making all of their (400 kids) smile wide this year. The school is comprised of some of our most disadvantaged kids in the City. We’ve asked the school to identify the exemplary students who worked the hardest, and those will be the ones who get to go to Disney World. Meanwhile we plan to have presents for ALL of the students at the school.
The big giveaway event will be on December 22, 2019, from 2 to 4 pm at Warfield Park, 1000 N Andrews Ave.
We still need more sponsors for the trip; we need $4000 total. Here’s a list of those who’ve committed, so far:
- $500 Marisa and Fradi Valdez from Flashlube
- $500 from Tim and Cindy Smith
- $500 from Kathy Barry from Homes, Inc.
- $200 from Abby Laughlin
- $200 from Joe Price
- $300 from South Middle River Civic Association
So we’re halfway there, but we’re committed to the project. Please help us make this a huge success.
